Since its genesis in 1921 along with the university itself, Department of Economics, University of Dhaka has not only been equipping the students with subject knowledge and skills, but it also has promoted the overall betterment of students through various cultural events from time to time.

Economics Cultural Club, Department of Economics, University of Dhaka, commonly known as ECC, was established in the year of 2016, keeping in mind the importance of social and cultural activities in preparing students for real life and strengthening their personal skills, along with a mission to be a respite from the periodically mundane academic life. Cultural activities not only help students to identify their skills within a wide range of opportunities but also assist them to learn interpersonal communication, leadership and organizational strategy. The club, since then, has been organizing various events full of extra-curricular activities which are both in line with the educational objectives of the institution and the need of healthy entertainment for young minds. Be it through music, dance, recitation, painting, photography, creative writing or any other creative medium of expression, Economics Cultural Club provides a safe space to its students to share their experiences, values, beliefs and practices and makes sure that every voice is heard.

  • Organizing activities pertaining to performing arts, and promoting leadership, organizational and communication skills through it.
  • Last but not the least, providing students with a vibrant campus experience alongside with the long-winded pedagogical journey
